How to Say Goodbye to Someday Isle

Most people live on the “Someday Isle”.

Someday I will do this.

Someday I will go there.

Someday I will get to it.

Unfortunately that someday never comes and most people continue to live on the “Someday Isle”.  10, 20 and 30 years later… they are still wondering why the someday never came.

Are you like most people?

I remember when I was deciding to leave corporate America.  I went back and forth.  It was a tough decision saying goodbye to the steady income and the “safe” environment.  The sea certainly looked rough out there.  Should I take the leap?   Should I wait?  Should I wait till… someday?

Taking that step, setting foot on that rocking boat leaving corporate was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Once I set foot the water was surprisingly calm.  It was a lot easier than I originally thought.

Are you ready to vote yourself off the Isle?

Are you willing to say goodbye to the comfort zone?

As soon as you are ready here are the five steps you need to take:

  1. Decide when you are going to do it
  2. Determine how you are going to do it
  3. Tell yourself that you can do it
  4. Declare to your friends that you are going to do it
  5. Just freaking do it!

I know there is something that you always wanted to do.  So do I!

I have been telling myself that I need to clean up my filing cabinet for 3 months now…  Yes.  It is still sitting there waiting for me to clean it up.  I have decided that I was going to do it and I have determined how I was going to do it.  I knew I could do it, but what I was missing was that I didn’t tell anyone that I was going to do it.  So, I just didn’t do it.   Since I just told you that I am going to do it I know you would hold me accountable and so now, I really have to do it.    Thank you for giving me this opportunity.  ;)

Have fun voting yourself off the Isle!  I know you can do it.
